The world’s biggest Advent calendar was a charity action of the advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather in favour of the association Düsseldorfer Tafel.

The Düsseldorfer Tafel is a non-profit association that distributes excess food among the needy and homeless.

For the world’s biggest Advent calendar, 24 windows were installed at 24 different locations. During the entire Advent season, the lights of these symbolic calendar windows were shining from the city gate of Düsseldorf to the facade of a Vodafone high-rise and the futuristic Ogilvy building in the port of Düsseldorf, window number 11, which was illuminated with the insider-weekend-prize.

Behind the calendar windows there were gifts from celebrities, which cannot be bought with money. E.g. ’meet & greets’ with Andreas Gursky and the ‘Fantastischen 4’, a personal work-out with Barbara Becker and the insider weekend in Majorca.
